May 12, 2026 | Port Emyniad & Enchanted Forest | Corsica South Coasters
Some places in Second Life come together quickly. Others take shape over time, shaped by the people who keep showing up.
On May 12, Port Emyniad celebrates Nessie Day—a gathering that’s grown around a quiet presence in the harbor.
Not everything here began at the same time, and that’s part of what gives this place its depth—layers you notice the longer you spend here.
Second Life is a long-running virtual world and creative community where residents build, explore, and gather in spaces shaped entirely by the people who inhabit them.

Nessie and the Memory of a Place
Long before Port Emyniad became what it is today, Nessie was already there.
She rises just beyond the harbor—long-necked, slow in her movement, more presence than spectacle. It’s easy to miss her at first, until you realize she’s been there the whole time.
If you’ve spent time here, you start to look for Nessie—
or just call her “Bob,” like Holocluck and Tindy do.
Since 2020, she has kept watch over the water, drifting with the tide, a familiar shape just past the pier. Created by Cica Ghost, she’s become something more than sculpture over time.
The land itself has shifted through different hands. Once part of Campbell Coast, later cared for by Bijoux, it carried its own rhythm long before we arrived.
On October 5, 2025, Ceakay Ballyhoo and I stepped in as caretakers of Port Emyniad & Enchanted Forest—not to remake it, but to continue what was already here.
Through all of it—the changes, the rebuilding, the reimagining—Nessie has remained.
Not as decoration, but as something closer to memory.

Port Emyniad, the Forest, and the People Who Shape It
Port Emyniad & Enchanted Forest sits along the Corsica coastline, where the shoreline opens into an arts village and a path inland leads into trees and quiet.
Along the harbor, galleries and creative spaces line the water, each bringing its own voice to the coast. You’ll find work by artists like Gioia Sautereau, Kayly Iali, N4RD1S, MayOMingzi, Kent Nowika, Bijoux Barr, and Indigo Starling—each contributing to a place that feels shared rather than staged.
Tucked among them is Salt Witch Haven Coffeehouse, offering a place to pause. The space currently features the work of Scylla Rhiadra. Nearby, an open-air stage carries music out over the water, where gatherings form and fade with the rhythm of the tide.
Follow the path inland and the tone shifts. Light softens, and sound quiets as the forest takes over. The Enchanted Forest—first envisioned by Bijoux, shaped by Nessa Nova, and updated by Ceakay Ballyhoo—remains a place for reflection, wandering, and creative reset.
It isn’t a place you move through quickly.
It’s the kind of place people return to.

A Living Creative Space
Port Emyniad isn’t only something to look at—it’s something people actively use.
Each week, Indigo hosts Write-Ins at Indigoskye Press:
Wednesdays & Fridays | 1–2 PM SLT
For one hour, the space fills with quiet, focused creativity:
- writers drafting stories and poems
- coders building
- teachers preparing
- and others simply creating alongside each other
There’s no pressure. No critique. Just shared presence and creative energy.
Voice opens and closes the session (with text always welcome), and afterward, the invitation is simple:
Stay. Wander. Explore.
The galleries, the harbor, Nessie, and the forest are all part of the experience.

Offerings for Nessie
For Nessie Day, people didn’t just show up—they made things.
Paintings, photos, drawings.
Short stories and poems.
Submissions came in through May 8, with prizes across both visual and written work. Winners will be announced at the gathering on May 12.
But it’s not really about that.
It’s about adding something of your own to a place that already holds meaning.
And on May 12, we gather together to celebrate.

Port Emyniad Nessie Day — May 12, 2026
The day unfolds along the harbor.
11 AM SLT — Jesika Wirefly opens, her voice carrying out over the water
12 PM SLT — DJ Zed takes over
Poetry shared by Indigo Skye
It’s part music, part gathering, part tribute—shaped as much by the people who show up as the ones who planned it.

Why This One Matters
There are a lot of events in Second Life.
But not all of them come from a place like this.
Port Emyniad didn’t appear all at once. It’s been cared for, passed along, reshaped, and continued—each layer adding something to what it is now.
And through all of it, Nessie has remained.
A steady presence in a space that keeps changing.

I find myself coming back here often—not for any one thing, but for the way it holds together. The harbor, the forest, the people, and Nessie just beyond the water… it feels like a place that remembers me and maybe you too.
