At Hippiestock 2026, Lyric Luna was doing what she has loved since her early days in Second Life. Taking photographs. She and her partner were dressed in full hippie spirit, soaking in the scene. She was quietly capturing moments the way she always does. Not for any particular reason, just because something felt worth keeping.
There was a photo contest running.
She entered one picture, just for fun.
She didn’t expect to win.
She did.
On Sunday, March 1, Lyric opens her very first exhibit at Cloud Galleries in Second Life . I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you.
Returning to Second Life
Lyric first joined Second Life back in 2008. After a long break, she came back with renewed curiosity and a quieter way of moving through the world. Second Life Photography became her way back in. A reason to look closely, to notice, to stay a little longer in a moment before it passed.
She photographs friends, strangers, and herself. Celebrations and stillness. People mid-laugh and landscapes mid-glow.
What makes this exhibit especially striking is that every single image is captured entirely in-world. No Photoshop. No AI. No outside editing tools. What you see is exactly what Second Life offered in that moment — nothing added, nothing taken away.
That simplicity is completely intentional, and you can feel it.

Día de los Muertos exhibit in a Virtual World
At the heart of this exhibit is something culturally rich and deeply personal: Día de los Muertos. The Mexican tradition built around one simple, beautiful act, remembering those we have loved.
This is not a dark tradition. It is not meant to frighten. It is color and candlelight, marigolds and altars, skeletal makeup worn with reverence, offerings that quietly say: you are not forgotten.
In Lyric’s photographs, that spirit comes through completely. Candlelight glows warm against shadow. Marigolds scatter like small golden pathways across the gallery floor. There is beauty here, and there is continuity — the feeling that love doesn’t stop just because someone is gone.
There is something genuinely moving about seeing a cultural tradition carried into a virtual world with this much care. Second Life gives us the ability to build landscapes, identities, and memories.
In this exhibit, Lyric brings an act of remembrance into that shared digital space, it feels like an offering.

A First Exhibit
This is Lyric Luna’s first exhibit.
And it goes far beyond that winning photograph at Hippiestock.
She channeled that momentum into something entirely new — a full, dedicated body of work celebrating Día de los Muertos.
Every image was created with intention. This isn’t a collection of happy accidents. It’s a cohesive exploration of cultural memory, beauty, and remembrance. Built entirely inside Second Life. Captured without outside editing tools or enhancement.
The winning photo opened a door. What Lyric walked through it to create is something all her own.
I am so glad she said yes to sharing it.
Come celebrate with us — and experience the cultural beauty of Día de los Muertos inside Second Life.
