Second Life’s art scene never stands still. New shows open, others close, each bringing its own spark. This weekend I wandered into three very different exhibits, from ritual, to vulnerability, to luminous energy!!

SHAMANISM by Miles Cantelou – Nitroglobus Annex
Opening September 1st at Nitroglobus Annex, Shamanism dives into ancient practices where shamans journey into altered states to seek healing and guidance.
Miles blends acrylic, ink, photography, and post-process layering into bold works that pulse with spiritual energy. Curator Dido Haas often challenges artists to bring out their best, and Miles rises to meet that here.
The collection feels fierce and mysterious, as if the eyes in these portraits are watching you as much as you are watching them. It’s already drawing a lot of attention — with good reason.

My Eating Disorders Diary by Rita Glad – Photo Café
Opening September 7th, Rita Glad’s My Eating Disorders Diary. This is raw and deeply personal.
Recently, I visited her Butterfly Effect exhibit. So when Rita sent an invite to this new work, I knew I had to see it. The collection takes on body image, imperfection, and the difficult road toward acceptance. A theme that touches so many in our world.
Hosted at her Showroom in collaboration with Photo Café, this exhibit turns struggle into a wider conversation about compassion and self-worth. It left me thinking about how art can open conversations we often avoid.

Minimalista – Spirit of Imago by Julana Allen – IMAGO
Already open, Julana’s Spirit of Imago swept me up with light and motion.
The works glow, fluid and alive, shimmering with transformation. Experiencing them at the opening was such a treat — the energy was high, yet gloriously calm. IMAGO, created and owned by Mareea Farrasco, is a space where the land and atmosphere become part of the exhibit itself, and Julana’s art shines beautifully there. Her use of PBR adds another layer of depth and presence to the pieces.
. Inara Pey and Violet Boa both offered thoughtful, beautifully written reviews, which I encourage you to read. Still, this is a show best felt by standing in it yourself, so do visit

Owl Thoughts:
From ritual journeys, to deeply personal diaries, to radiant spirit — these exhibits remind me why I keep exploring art in Second Life. Each left me reflecting in a different way: about spirit, about struggle, about light. That’s the magic of SL art: it always finds a way to surprise me.

It was a real pleasure, Owl, to read your excellent reviews. Thanks for sharing them with the SL art lovers and artists.
