Opening August 19 at Michiel Bechir Gallery – Opening party 12pm SLT with Dj Toya – take the ride.
When I closed the circle on the ritual, I didn’t step away. I carried its hum back into my own spaces—into my black box, into the charged quiet of Angel of Pain, into the dim corners where Regi Yifu’s light fell like spellwork.
This exhibit was not built in a single rush of inspiration. It unfolded like a rite—slowly, deliberately. Each image was a threshold I crossed alone: from shadow to shape, from light to form. In-world, my avatar became both vessel and witness; in editing, the pieces spoke again, revealing layers I hadn’t expected.
The work didn’t just happen about ritual. It happened through ritual.

Before the story, there was the pulse.
Not yours alone—older. Woven. Whispered.
You arrive not as one, but as many:
marked by those who came before,
their echoes curling beneath your skin.
Crafting the Shadows
Some moments unfolded at Angel of Pain. Others took shape in my black box studio, where the outside world fell away.
Lighting became language. Thanks to the luminous work of Regi Yifu, I could paint with shadow, carve light along skin, and let form emerge slowly — as though it had always been waiting there.
This was not quick work. Each piece revealed itself in its own time, sometimes over long, immersive hours, sometimes after stepping away and returning when the image was ready to speak again.
Opening the Door a Crack
Here are three images from my ritual — the full story will be revealed August 19th at Michiel Bechir Gallery.
✨ Echo of the Faun
This piece still surprises me when I look at it. The striped light felt accidental at first, but it became part of the story — wildness tempered by design.

Before the words, there was the wild. I remember how to leap.
Laughter stitched into your ribs, hooves pressing stories into soil. This is the pulse that came before language — and still runs beneath it.
✨ Witches Eye: Angel of Pain

She hangs between moon and earth, a charm in the mouth of midnight.
Bound not in weakness, but in will sharpened by centuries.
The eye opens in shadow. She sees not just what is — but what has been burned, what will rise in ash.
Crossing Into the Exhibit
As the last piece came into place, I felt the quiet that follows a rite. That still, charged air when the work is done but the spell is still working.
Marked by Shadow, Moved by Light isn’t just a series of images; it’s a sequence meant to be walked through, each threshold leading to the next.
I invite you to move through shadow and light with me, to see what shapes reveal themselves to you.
August 19th at Michiel Bechir Gallery, the circle opens again — this time for you to step inside.
This opening is part of a group exposition curated by Michiel Bechir and Maggie Runo. The exhibit features new work by Starlight Silverspar and Kisma K. Stepanich-Reidling, each presenting their own distinctive visions in neighboring gallery spaces.
I’m excited to be part of this event!
