This week we step into the vibrant, welcoming world of Lizzy Swordthain. If you’ve spent time in SL’s art scene, you’ve likely crossed paths with her—behind a camera, DJing a set, or quietly supporting other artists.
Lizzy creates under the name :: ʟ.ꜱ. ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ ::. Her work blends curiosity, connection, and that easy sense of fun she carries everywhere.

🖌️ Meet Lizzy Sworthain
Spend five minutes with Lizzy and you’ll see why she’s a bright light in SL. She’s everywhere—in the best way.
Co-owner (with MajorTom Willis) of Fine Art & Music and its family of venues. A DJ with a gift for setting the perfect mood. A friend who’s always ready for a laugh or a deep conversation. A connector who makes art spaces feel like home.
Her inspiration starts with people. Friends, fellow creatives, and even chance conversations spark her ideas.
“Friends and people… that’s what keeps SL alive and worth coming back to.” – Lizzy
Lizzy’s Shadow play from her flicker
When the mood strikes, Lizzy turns those sparks into art. :: ʟ.ꜱ. ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏɢʀᴀᴘʜʏ :: moves between landscapes, avatar portraits, and playful PBR texture experiments. She keeps her editing light—a little cropping, a touch of GIMP—and lets the moment speak for itself.
Her process is intuitive. A sim might catch her eye. A real-life memory might inspire a scene. Once the idea hits, she shapes it in-world—playing with light, EEPs, and shadows. Over time, she’s shifted away from heavy editing. Now she focuses on in-world tools like mirrors, PBR textures, and natural light. Patience guides her, along with a willingness to see where the shot wants to go.
🎯 A Piece to Look For
In her Cloud Galleries space, don’t miss The Beach. This piece was created for the Rock Your Rack show in 2024. The PBR textures catch the light in a way that feels almost alive in-world. (sadly, impossible to capture in a still image).

It later appeared for International Women’s Day that same year. Lizzy describes it as a reflection of the quiet strength women carry—sometimes without even knowing it. It’s layered, powerful, and worth sitting with for a while.
🎨 Style in Motion
Lizzy calls herself “pretty casual” as an artist.
Her work tells a different story. It’s curious, skilled, and always evolving. She sometimes experiments with textures and techniques. Still, she’s most often drawn back to landscapes and avatar photography.
She doesn’t create to impress. She creates to connect and share a mood or a moment.

🏡 Lizzy’s Space at Cloud Galleries
Her gallery space at Cloud feels like stepping into a warm conversation. Welcoming, textured, personal. You can sense the stories behind the images. She captures not just the look of a scene, but its energy.
This is art you want to linger with.

💬 Owl’s Thoughts
Lizzy gives as much to the SL art world as she takes from it—probably more. She makes people feel welcome, whether you’re in her gallery or at one of her DJ sets.
Her work feels easy and natural, but that ease comes from skill and quiet intention. She doesn’t just show her art. She shares her presence. And that’s a gift.
