There’s something beautiful about watching creativity evolve.

At Maison de la Chouette, part of the vibrant Corsica South Coasters community, we’re fortunate to witness that monthly. This happens through our collaboration with The Grove Art Center. A collective that nurtures emerging and established Second Life artists through classes, feedback, and friendship.

This July, we’re honored to showcase the work of two deeply creative individuals whose images hold both memory and momentum: Eira Juliesse and Dutch Galaxy.

Their styles are distinct. Their passion for storytelling is evident. Their love for beauty and for Second Life as a creative canvas shines through.

✨ About the Artists

Eira Juliesse

Eira has been active in Second Life photography since 2008. With roots in SL fashion magazines like ModaviaAvenue, and Maniera, she brings a refined eye for lighting, composition, and storytelling.

Her exhibit this month is a portrait series featuring members of The Grove Art Center’s Photo Club. Each portrait reflects a unique aspect of the subject, including a signature wearable attachment that inspired the design of their custom frame. These thoughtful pairings of person and object, light and shape, feel like tiny curated worlds. And yes—they’re available for purchase, complete with modifiable frames so you can reuse them to display your own work later.

“I will always have fashion in my blood,” Eira says, “but not as a blogger. I do this for the love of SL photography, old and new SL fashion, and hopefully to make some pretty pictures along the way.”

While she once relied heavily on Photoshop, Eira now tags many of her photos No Edits. She lets her skill with WindLight, angles, and mesh details do the talking. Her work is nostalgic, romantic, and technically stunning—echoing the evolution of Second Life photography itself.

Relaxing at dusk

Relaxing at dusk – 2025 By Dutch Galaxy

Dutch Galaxy

Dutch Galaxy delivers humor, heart, and a band of avatars with stories to tell.

Since 2009, Dutch has been crafting photos that bring his self-created musical crew. Bringing MacAlt Clan Band to life in wild and whimsical scenes. Each image is a mini-concert, with characters who feel lived-in, expressive, and full of personality.

Often pairing photos with music in the Flickr comments, Dutch’s work exists at the intersection of visual storytelling and soundtrack.

Whether showing one band members or their Instuments, there’s consistently rhythm in the framing. There’s energy in the staging. There’s just enough mischief to make you smile.

🎧 Opening Party – July 6 @ 12PM SLT

We’ll be celebrating the launch of Eira and Dutch’s exhibit with an outdoor party. It will be held at Maison de la Chouette. The venue is right on the waterfront cliff at Corsica South Coasters.

✨ Music will be provided by the ever-wonderful DJ Uli Jansma, spinning a set perfect for art, dancing, and drifting among the waves.

You’re here to support the artists. Maybe you’re here to soak up the vibe. Or perhaps you’re here to find something new to fall in love with. No matter the reason, this is the place to be.

💬 Come See the Show

This exhibit will remain on display throughout July. Even if you miss the party, there’s time to stop by. Wander through the space and get inspired. Each room is personal, expressive, and filled with snapshots that remind us of what’s possible in this shared virtual world.

Come visit, bring a friend, and stay a while.

See you there ~ Owl
